Granite Real Estate Investment Club is a Bay Area boutique real estate investment company. GREIC was started in 2003 to facilitate networking and bring to medium a common place to meet people of like minds. After having belonged to other clubs in the other cities Granite Real Estate operates and invests in, we saw the value of mingling with people who can help us and not discourage us.

Lisa Schwartz, Manager of Granite Real Estate and the South San Jose Real Estate Investment Club (part of GREIC), holds a Master of Business Administration from California State University and travels quite frequently to good appreciating areas to analyze market trends. Her team locates undervalued properties rehabilitates, funds, and builds portfolios of properties to generate great cash flow.

We are not professional seminar promoters. We are experienced investors who have been there and done that and can help you sort out fact from fiction and, educators from marketeers.

What we are not about as well as some questions you might want to ask of real estate clubs.


1. Do they have a professional staff of high powered sales people? This is not cool.
2. Do they contact you with high-pressured sales pitches? Once again, they are not about teaching you, but selling you.
3. Do they promote webinars, online training, social media and Web2.0 practices into their real estate investing. If not, be prepared to spend $40-60 for potentially stale information and bad food to meet only a few, unique people per month.
4. Do they constantly try to get you to sign up for more and more expensive coaching services that run $5000 and more? If so, they do not have your interests at heart. You need to buy educational materials but most don't run into the thousands of dollars.
5. Do they offer money back guarantees on all the products and seminars they sell? Lots of luck with some companies that don't.
